A New City Centre For Milan: Porta Nuova

The most futuristic and amazing area of Milan is Porta Nuova – Garibaldi. The recently developed area is not only the new business district of Milan. The Porta Nuova area offers far more: it has been developed during the last decades into an innovative urban space offering at the same time urban work, living and retail spaces – all with high quality and energy standards – making Porta Nuova a unique example of eco-sustainable and mixed-used urban environment in Italy.

The area is also expected to develop into a retail heaven attracting luxury brands such as Dsquared2 and Costume National. Thanks to this strategic location and the excellent accessibility to the area also many key firms have opted to move their headquarters here like many international banks.

One of the famous Porto Nuova projects are the Diamond Tower – a 30-story, 137-meter-high diamond-shaped tower and the Bosco Verticale towers. The Bosco Verticale towers perfectly integrate green surroundings with a modern concept of urban living. The Bosco Verticale towers are an innovative project, capable of regenerating the environment and urban biodiversity.

The area feature also one of the tallest buildings in Italy: the Unicredit Tower, a 231-meter skyscraper. From summer 2015 the Unicredit tower will be able to host events, with up to 700 people.  With a very modern architecture and design the building features laminar wooden ribs and glass, characterized also by two extendable structures – the “Wings”, 12 metres long – that will be set-up with a giant screen overlooking the park and the Gae Aulenti Square. Given the diversity of the spaces the venue can host more than one event contemporaneously.
