The region Veneto is located in the North East of Italy and extends from the Dolomites to the Adriatic Sea. The capital of this region is the wonderful, world famous lagoon city Venice. This city is part of the UNESCO world heritage and is known for its gondolas, the Grand Canal, Saint Mark’s Square and all its little alleys and impressing bridges. Also the famous carnival of Venice turns the city into one of the most popular destinations in Italy.
Apart from Venice, also Verona is always worth a visit: in this city, you find a huge number of well-preserved remains of the Roman Era as well as wonderful renaissance buildings. That is the reason why Verona is perfect for lovers of art and culture! Other well-known cities in Veneto are for example Padua, Vicenza or Belluno. Also for lovers of nature, Veneto has plenty to offer: especially the Dolomites with their beautiful and multifaceted landscape are an absolute highlight!
